Microdosing isn’t just a thing that’s happening in Silicon Valley or people that are focussed on high performance only. When I first started microdosing I found it hard to share and talk about it with others. Nowadays, it seems that loads of people have integrated this well-being practice and it becomes more normalized. Perhaps you became curious as well, yet not sure how to get started. No worries I’ve got your back!
What is microdosing?
Microdosing, by contrast, is the act of consuming sub-perceptual amounts of psychedelics. Either you don’t feel a microdose—the way you don’t really feel aspirin or coffee—or you barely feel it. A microdose allows you to access some of the changes brought on by a full dose but in a more comfortable fashion.
Microdosing shifts neural patterns, putting you in touch with your most profound sense of self. Whether you want to relieve anxiety, climb out of depression, or discover new motivation and creativity, microdosing psychedelics is a safe and powerful tool.
Microdosing can provide you with a gentle and soft introduction to psychedelics – while still offering impressive benefits.
Why microdose?
There are several benefits – similar to the results you see when you follow a meditation protocol. You become more aware, more responsive, and more control over your day-to-day. Helps to cultivate greater awareness of your needs for nourishment.
People generally microdose for two different reasons:
- Decrease the frequency and/or intensity of undesirable states of being.
Undesirable states of being: depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, Mood disorders, PTSD, addiction
- Improve the frequency and/or intensity of desirable states of being.
Creativity, energy, flow states, productivity/focus, increased empathy, and leadership development.
What are the potential benefits of microdosing?

What substances can you use for microdosing?
Microdosing is not only linked to psilocybin truffles. You can microdose with different substances: Ayahuasca, mescaline, ketamine, DMT, LSD analogs, and MDMA. Despite that, due to legalization, I focus on microdosing with psilocybin truffles only. All the information shared on my website will apply to that substance.
What is a microdose?
A most common ‘mistake’ by people is they think they will experience a trip or feel completely weird while microdosing. ‘Can I go to work?’ ‘What if people see that I’m using something etc. Or they feel disappointed because they haven’t had a breakthrough experience while microdosing? Well, that’s where other doses come in. I broke down and summarized some of my doses to clarify.
mega dose“ 15 – 20 gram

Aiming to facilitate self-exploration and reflection.
“museum dose” or “concert dose” 4-6 gram
Aiming for increased ability to enjoy audio and visual stimuli and increase creative thinking.

Sub-perceptual, used as a supplement to aid general well-being.

What are protocols?
We live in a world where we need these tools of empowerment more than ever. A well-structured microdosing protocol helps you go deeper within and integrate challenging emotions.
There are two commonly followed protocols:
- Microdose 2x per week for one month, followed by a minimum one-week break. This protocol was developed by Dr. James Fadiman to help people wean off pharmaceuticals and heal underlying clinical conditions
- Microdose 4x per week for five weeks, with a minimum of one day of rest between every two doses. Take one week off to re-establish a baseline. Paul Stamets developed this protocol to maximize the benefits of neuroplasticity by following a supplement-like regimen with microdosing.
It is essential to minimize microdosing on back-to-back days. There is short-term tolerance of 48 hours with psychedelics like psilocybin and LSD, so microdosing on back-to-back days has no productive utility.
Is microdosing psilocybin legal?
For instance, in Brazil, Jamaica, and the British Virgin Islands, it’s not considered illegal to possess or consume mushrooms containing psilocybin. Similarly, in the Netherlands, it’s legal to purchase and consume psilocybin in the form of ‘magic truffles’, which are slightly different than psilocybin mushrooms. Magic truffles can be purchased online (although they may still be illegal in your country), making this a popular source for obtaining a natural substance for microdosing purposes, particularly if you live in Europe.
There are also numerous jurisdictions where psilocybin has been decriminalized. For instance, in both Austria and Canada, you can legally buy mushroom spores and grow kits, although the possession and consumption of psilocybin remain a legal grey area. The Czech Republic, Portugal, and Spain have all decriminalized the consumption of small amounts of psilocybin for personal use, although growth and/or possession may still be illegal.
Do I need microdose guidance?
If you’re starting with microdosing for the first time. You can benefit from guidance and help to finetune your approach and get the most out of your first experiences. I can help you to clarify your goals, and structure your microdosing schedule so that you can unlock the possible potential from microdosing. Applying structure to your daily life ensures that you better retail positive change as a result of microdosing in the long term.

How does microdose coaching work?
My coaching sessions are focussed on dealing with emotions, and value-orientated living. I always start with an intake session of 15 minutes via phone or video call. If you want a face-to-face you can book one of my microdosing walks, Together we will tap into what drives you to start with microdosing, and what you’d hope to achieve.
After that I want you to take at least 24 hours to soak it in and decide if it’s for you. Then we can decide on how often you want to schedule a subsequent session.
What will I be learning?
If you decide to get started. You will take your first microdoses – firsthand, it’s good to find out what the right dose is for you, and if the chosen protocol fits your lifestyle. Once you are comfortable with that, you will get assessments for logging usage and self-reflection.
My main purpose is that you have a comfortable entry into the world of microdosing, you know how to head forward and integrate it into your life.
